EAST CAMPUS LIBRARY
 Classroom Use Policy
January 10, 2000 (editorial changes, April 1, 2004)

The Augusta R. Kolwyck Library Classroom at Chattanooga State Technical Community College East Campus is under the administrative direction of the Dean of Library Services.  This room is primarily designed for library staff to teach library instruction classes.  Faculty who want to schedule assignment-related classes should contact the East Campus Library staff at extension 4546 or 697-4797 (press 3, press 1).  For any other purposes than those listed below, requests should be made to the Dean of Library Services at 697-2576.

The Library Classroom will be an open lab for student use unless it is reserved for the following instructional purposes during regular library hours:

    1.  Classes scheduled for assignment-related library instruction taught by library staff.
    2.  Library instruction or Internet instruction classes for faculty, staff, or community taught by library staff.
    3.  A single session taught by a class instructor for Internet or course software instruction or class presentation where no appropriate computer lab is available.  Students will be referred to their instructors when questions arise of a technical nature on course-related software.
    4.  Administrative computer training for faculty and staff taught by appropriate personnel and scheduled by East library staff.  These training classes should be scheduled during times when there is less demand for library instruction classes.

Rules of Use

    1.  No food, drink, or tobacco products may be taken into the classroom.
    2. No software may be added to or removed from the computers without
prior permission of the Dean of Library Services or Computer Services.  (See Procedures for library classroom, 2.)
    3.  No one may alter, tamper, revise or otherwise change any software, hardware, furniture, or classroom equipment.
    4.  When instruction is taking place in the classroom only persons enrolled in the scheduled session may use the room at that time.
    5.  A library staff member, course instructor, or designated trainer must remain with the class when it is in session.
    6.  All persons using the classroom must agree to the library's “Acceptable Use of Electronic Resources” policy. (http://library.chattanoogastate.edu/policy/aceptuse.htm)
