Electronic Classroom Use Policy
The Augusta R. Kolwyck Library electronic classroom at Chattanooga State
Technical Community College is under the administrative direction of the Dean of
Library Services. This room is designed for library staff to teach library
instruction classes. Faculty who want to schedule assignment-related classes
should contact the Coordinator of Instructional Services at 697-2577 or
697-4448. For any other purpose, requests should be made to the Dean of Library
Services at 697-2576.
- College classes scheduled for assignment-related library instruction
taught by a librarian or library assistant. This includes assignment-related
Internet instruction.
- High school or middle school classes scheduled for assignment-related
library instruction taught by a librarian or library assistant.
- Library instruction or Internet instruction classes for faculty or staff
taught by a librarian or library assistant.
- Library Staff Meetings
- Internet instruction for classes where no appropriate computer lab is
available. These should be confirmed with the Dean of Library Services after
course registration has been completed. If the course did not materialize, it
will be removed from the library classroom schedule so that library
instruction classes can be scheduled in those time slots. Classes may be
scheduled to meet in the library classroom during regular library hours only.
- Administrative computer training for faculty and staff where no
appropriate computer lab is available. This should be scheduled in afternoons
or during times when there is less demand for library instruction classes.
Training may occur during regular library hours only.
- No food, drink, or tobacco products may be taken into the classroom.
- No software may be added to or removed from the computers without prior
permission of the Dean of Library Services.
- Only persons enrolled in the scheduled sessions may use the room at the
scheduled times.
- A library staff member, course instructor, or designated trainer must
remain with the class.
- No one may alter, tamper, revise or otherwise change any software,
hardware, furniture, or classroom equipment.
- Those (students, faculty and staff) using the classroom to access the
Internet must agree to the Library Internet Policy.
