Assignments: 

bulletDiversity Project:   Students will work in groups of 3 to research the health practices and characteristics of an economic, ethnic, religious or cultural group that could influence their health and health care. Students will prepare a project to teach other students about the ethnic group. 
bulletArticle Critiques:  Students will write a critique of an article on each subject below and explain how the article relates to information covered in class.  Articles must be located in approved nursing journals published between 2001 and 2004.  
bulletCritique #1:  Ethical or legal issues in nursing including values, morals, code of ethics, negligence, professionalism, types of law, etc.
bulletCritique #2:  Manager of care including leadership styles, responsibility, accountability, time management, nursing management, etc.

This multidisciplinary database provides full text for more than 2,050 general reference publications with full text information dating as far back as 1975. Covering virtually every subject area of general interest, MasterFILE Premier also includes more than 350 full text reference books, 84,606 biographies, 88,463 primary source documents, and an Image Collection of 107,135 photos, maps and flags.
CINAHL, is the authoritative resource for nursing and allied health professionals, students, educators and researchers. This database provides indexing for over 1,700 current nursing and allied health journals and publications dating back to 1982, totaling over 961,000 records.
A companion database to CINAHL, Pre-CINAHL is intended to provide current awareness of new journal articles, and includes a rotating file of limited bibliographic information (no subject searching), which are available to researchers only for the time when these articles are being assigned additional indexing.
Designed for nursing and allied health professionals, students, educators and researchers, this database provides full text for nearly 400 journals covering the areas of nursing, biomedicine, health sciences, consumer health and allied health disciplines. Nearly all full text titles included in Nursing & Allied Health: Comprehensive Edition are indexed in CINAHL.
