Assignment: Research and write a critical analysis of Flannery O'Connor's short story "A Good Man is Hard to Find." Four to six sources are required and may be from the databases on this website, books on reserve in the library, or books from the library's circulating and online collections. No Internet sites are allowed. A report on the progress of the research is due on Feb. 22; an annotated bibliography is due on Mar. 12; and the final paper is due on April 11.
1. Watch two brief videos about her life and work at Georgia Women of Achievement.
2. Begin by reading an overview of the story from an essay in Literature Resource Center.

3. Find critical analysis from scholarly journals and books in these databases:
Type in the title of the story and select <Name of Work>.

Choose the Peer Reviewed tab to limit your results to scholarly journals, if desired.
Click on the <Advanced search> link above the search box.
Search by author's name and/or the title of your work.
Narrow your search to only the Article type by checking that box.

Search the catalog for books of criticism to
check out or view online.
Type your author's name in the search box.
Click on the blue title link to see more information or to access an electronic book.
Check the STATUS for books that are available for check out.
Entries with
Online netLibrary Book Collection
as the Library Location are electronic books.

these books from off-campus.)
