Assignment:  Review the description of the assignment.

• 750-1000 words to include a minimum of 2 references from the texts used in the unit and 2 references from outside sources. 
• Only 1 outside source may be from the internet.  NO WIKIPEDIA!
   

1.  Search electronic databases: (Require current passwords for off-campus access.)

For full-text articles on a broad range of topics from magazines, newspapers, reference books, some multimedia, etc.

• Search with keyword combinations using the words americanization or westernization and a country name.

• Try "american culture" and a country name. 

• Use specific topics, such as sports, food, popular culture, etc., as keywords with a country name.

• Look for brand names, such as McDonald's, Microsoft, Coca-Cola, Wal-Mart, etc. 

  MasterFile Premier--Use a keyword search for combining terms with and.
 

  LexisNexis Academic--Look for articles from international news sources not found in other databases. 

  General OneFile--Use the Basic Search to combine terms with and.
 

2.  Use only authoritative websites, such as:

Globalization 101.org--a student's guide to globalization (a project of the Levin Institute of the State University of New York)

Globalization Guide--How does globalization affect culture?  Is it Americanisation?

Global Policy Forum--Global Policy Forum monitors policy making at the United Nations,
promotes accountability of global decisions, educates and mobilizes for global citizen participation,
and advocates on vital issues of international peace and justice.
