What You Need to Know

  • Faculty can put items on electronic reserve that are accessible through the catalog. Please submit items that are in the .pdf or .html format.
  • Faculty members can bring their Chattanooga State ID to get a library card. The library card will have a barcode that allows you to check out books and access login features.
  • You can go to "Your Account" to check your library record.
  • For the current Password:  Log into "Your Account"; click on the "Multisearch" button to get this semester's password for the library's databases.
  • You can "Place Holds" on books that are unavailable (Checked-Out, No item data available). Check the "Status" of the book before placing holds.
  • "Assignment Guides" are created by library instructors for your specific  assignment. Please submit a copy of this assignment to the librarian so that s/he can develop a personalized guide of library resources.
  • "Research Guides" list web sites, databases, periodicals, and reference books on different subjects such as nursing, controversial issues, and literature. Please contact the library if there are additional items that could be added to these guides.
  • Go to the "All Databases" page to find individual database descriptions and citation examples.
  • Use Persistent Links for a class reading list, assignment or a department web site

  • You can ask questions, make suggestions, and get books unavailable at the CSTCC library here. Interlibrary Loans are a service that finds the book that you need from other colleges and universities and delivers it to the CSTCC library for you to use.
  • You can request a library instruction class online.
  • You can request items to be placed on reserve online.
  • The Library's Instruction Program is designed to provide a personalized class focusing on your students' unique library assignment.

  • Classes held in the library's classroom are library instruction classes, not regular CSTCC classes.  Contact Tisa Houck for more information.
